More on CNY 2008

Today is the second day of the new year. Weather is still a little overcast, cool and breezy. Yesterday morning it was even cooler and we had breakfast outside on the patio reading the papers and magazines, with new year songs blasting from the radio...hehe.

We have some visiting to do today...can't wait to have some yummy Malay food (it is a Halal open house you see) after two days of Chinese food at home.

Meanwhile, here are more snapshots our new year celebrations in Miri.

Neighbours along the street all had their red red decorations up. Quite windy these few days so the lanterns are all skewed to one side.

Chinese lanterns for the main entrance. Not sure about the significance, but it looks pretty so..

Ang pows everywhere!

Staying close to tradition even though just the two of us, steamboat for new year's eve dinner.

The morning after all the firecrackers had been lit.....
