I was peeking through the window trying to catch a glimpse of the 'bu lang sai' (lion dance) people doing their thing in the house down our street. I asked Hubby,
Me: Should we let them in or not?
Hubby: No la...you got a lot of money ah?
Me: Just bao a small token la
Hubby: You think what, RM10 can get you 'bu lang sai' issit?
Me: Isn't it like they come, bless the household and then we give them some ang pow as a token of appreciation? Maybe like RM10-20? Or maybe RM50 if we stick a pole in the air and they do stuntman things?
Hubby: Honey, it is all business now. They will probably take your stick and hit you if you give them RM50. If you want to watch bu lang sai we can go Boulevard watch it for free. Better some more.
What? Since when did lion dancing become a business? We have to pay a minimum (high) fee for a little blessing now?
